What Apple ships in Apple Music on iOS 26

Apple's June 2025 newsroom preview and the "What's new in iOS 26" support article highlight Apple Music updates. Points below come from Apple release notes only.

01

Floating tab bar

In Apple Music, News, and Podcasts, the tab bar floats above content, shrinks while you browse, and expands when you scroll back up (Apple newsroom).

02

Lyrics Translation

Apple's newsroom says Lyrics Translation helps users understand favorite songs. Support docs: open lyrics, tap Translation and Pronunciation, then Show Translation. Translations follow Preferred Languages in Settings → General → Language & Region.

03

Lyrics Pronunciation

Apple's preview describes Lyrics Pronunciation so everyone can sing along across languages. Choose Show Pronunciation when available; not all songs, languages, or regions qualify.

04

AutoMix transitions

Apple's newsroom says AutoMix transitions like a DJ using time stretching and beat matching. The User Guide notes that on iOS 26+ with Apple Music catalog playback, AutoMix is on by default, may trim silence or crossfade, and albums or some genres may play without transitions. Non‑subscribers cannot enable AutoMix.

05

Crossfade and Song Transitions

Apple Support explains Settings → Apps → Music → Song Transitions to pick AutoMix, Crossfade, or off, with a slider for crossfade length.

06

Liquid Glass and Apple Music Sing

Apple Music adopts the Liquid Glass design in iOS 26. Apple Music Sing and lyric tools require catalog songs, connectivity or downloads, and matching Preferred Languages per Apple Support.

Features ship with iOS 26. Apple's "How to download iOS 26" lists iPhone 11 and later plus iPhone SE (2nd generation and later). Apple Music Sing hardware limits are documented separately — follow Apple's "Sing along with Apple Music" article.
