Verify your iPhone is compatible
Open Apple's "How to download iOS 26" page and match iPhone 11 and later plus iPhone SE (2nd generation and later). Unsupported iPhones will not see the update.

Back up with iCloud
Settings → your name → iCloud → iCloud Backup → Back Up Now. Stay on Wi‑Fi until the last-backup timestamp updates. If storage is full, follow onscreen steps to buy more iCloud space or trim backups.

Free storage, power, and stable Wi‑Fi
The installer downloads several gigabytes. Keep the iPhone charged (power adapter recommended) and on reliable Wi‑Fi. Corporate networks that block Apple CDN may need a different network.

Open Software Update and install
Settings → General → Software Update. If an update is available, tap Download and Install and follow prompts. The iPhone will restart — do not force power off.

Why doesn't my iPhone show iOS 26?
